David Menk

David Menk Pottery, Minneapolis

Using stoneware clay, each of my pieces is uniquely individual due to the atmospheric results of firing in a soda kiln. My goal is to create a quiet aesthetic that is pleasing to both the hand and to the eye. Inspired by the minimalism of traditional Asian pottery, I am continually searching to reflect a similar quality in my own forms and finishes.

Abby Lingle

Abby LIngle pottery, Milaca

I create unique hand built and wheel thrown and altered pottery out of porcelain. I enjoy creating complex surfaces by layering handmade textures using only handmade custom tools. Then I finish the pieces with unique, custom, handmade glazes in a cone 6 oxidation firing.

Susan Koehler

Leaf St. Pottery, Fairchild, WI

Functional wheel thrown stoneware pottery. I make a wide variety of functional pottery. I specialize mainly table/kitchenware but also enjoy making decorative pieces. Each piece is hand thrown. I formulate my own glazes and fire in an electric kiln to cone 9.

I use white stoneware and fire in a cone 5-6 oxidation atmosphere for my functional ware. I also specialize horse hair raku firing. My passion for color is evident in my work.  The vivacity, tone, placement, and opacity of color on any given piece changes how our eyes and our brain processes them and consequently, how we feel.

Chad Jerzak

Chad Jerzak Pottery, Nowthen

I create decorative Raku and Barrel fired ceramic art for the home.

My work is focused on a love of working in clay and using alternative firing methods to discover a wide range of exciting surface effects.

Amy Von Bargen

Amy VOn Bargen Pottery, Minneapolis

Functional, contemporary pottery that is hand built from slabs of clay. I use texture to enhance the design and soft glazes that feel satisfying to the hand.  Pots are fired to nearly 2300 degrees in a gas reduction kiln. I hope that my pots are appreciated for their aesthetic and their function so that they are frequently used in daily life.

Vanessa Greene

Vanessa Greene Pottery, Minnetonka

Wheel thrown high fired functional ceramics, fired in wood, soda and gas kilns. In the last few years I have been increasingly drawn to wood firing, experimenting with different surface treatments and results that are captivating to me. I still remain very focused on carefully thrown white stoneware.

Yvonne Asp-Grahn

Pleasant Street Pottery, Prior Lake

Thrown & hand built stoneware / bright colored slips / finger textured exteriors / fine hand carving. Growth is a consistent theme throughout my work. For instance, people are drawn to the natural elegance of flora, but its demand to grow is what I find appealing. Despite a delicate build, the need to grow compels all of us forward.

John Steger

Riverwest Potteryworks LLC, Shakopee

The emphasis of my work has stayed constant over the past 22 years. I am primarily a functional potter. I am using mid-range, cone 6 stoneware clay and glazes, in an oxidation firing environment. I am a functional potter. I use mid-range stoneware and mid-range glazes that compliment each other well.
